In an attempt to get my kids a little more excited about summer reading, I came up with these crochet beachy bookmarks that included the most adorable Disney Finding Nemo and Dory buttons! A super simple pattern that could be made in any color and embellished with all sorts of buttons or charms.

Materials:
– Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Bone, Sage, and Blue Mint. You find these colors and the entire line of Caron Simply Soft at Yarnspirations.com!
 Size F Crochet Hook
– Clover Tassel Maker
– Tapestry Needle
– Disney Finding Nemo Buttons

Abbreviations:
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

Crochet Bookmark Pattern:
NOTE: Pattern does not mark color changes. Change colors at any row, making beachy stripes. Look at my pictures for inspiration :)
Chain 11, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (10 SC)
Row 2-30: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 31: SC in first two stitches, HDC in next two, DC in next, chain 2, DC in next, HDC in next two, SC in last two, chain 1, turn
Row 32: SC in each stitch across making 2 SC over the chain 2 (this leaves an opening for your tassel). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Create seaweed by making surface slip stitches. Click HERE for a great Surface Slip Stitch tutorial.
Add Nemo buttons.
Use your Clover Tassel Maker to make a tassel for the top of your bookmark! Full set of picture tutorial instructions come with the tassel kit!
