This is the pattern that keeps on giving! I originally designed it to be a Pumpkin square for my Pumpkin Patch Blanket but it absolutely works as an Apple Crochet Square! Just in time for Fall crocheting and apple picking season!
Now the question is, do you prefer red or green apples?! Why not make both! You could even make the sliced apple version.

Before we begin, you will need to grab the free written pattern HERE on Yarnspirations.com.

I designed this pattern for Yarnspirations several years ago so it lives forever on their website.

To make the Apple, all you need to do is change the colors!
I’m using Red Heart Super Saver in colors Cherry Red (red apple) or Spring Green (green apple), Cafe Latte (stem and final border), and Saffron Yellow for the background.
Shop all shade of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn HERE.
You will do the first 3 rounds in either Red or Green.
OR if you are doing the sliced apple, you will do the first two rounds in White and then the 3rd round in either Red or Green.

Don’t forget, the written pattern is here:

The fourth round is where you will begin with Saffron Yellow and then switch over to Cafe Latte to make the stem in the last 3 stitches.

When you get to the last round, make SC in each stitch and 2 SC + chain 2 + 2 SC in each corner.

Add a green leaf!
Tiny Crochet Leaf Pattern:
with spring green yarn
Chain 5, SC in second chain from hook, HDC in next, DC in next, HDC in last and slip stitch back down to the last stitch.
Stitch onto square next to the stem.

Add two little black seeds to your sliced apple with a long strand of black yarn and your tapestry needle. Just loop the yarn around two stitches twice on either side of the center point.

I think I will have to make a tote bag or maybe a blanket with these!
The Yarn Zip would work well for a tote! The Yarn Zip is a brand new zipper design that features a loosely woven channel for easy yarn attachment, perfect for knitting, crocheting, and stitching projects.

How about them apples?! So cute!
