The nostalgia! Do you remember the TV Show Yo Gabba Gabba? It was extremely popular when my boys were young (about 13 years ago) and we had songs like “There’s a party in my Tummy” and “The Yo Gabba Gabba Theme Song” on repeat in our house.
My oldest son even got to meet his favorite character, Brobee, at a Toys R Us store when he was 2 years old!
Fast forward 13 years later, and I was thrilled to receive an awesome Yo Gabba Gabba Crochet Kit in the mail, featuring our most-loved little green one, Brobee!
Micah (my oldest son) is 2 years old in the picture above and is now 15 years old in the picture below! I really appreciate him taking this photo. It’s not easy getting teenagers to pose for my crochet photos these days 
The kit was created by Allison Hoffman of Crafty Is Cool in collaboration with Yo Gabba Gabba with her input on all elements of the product especially the pattern development. Allison is a very talented crochet designer and I have always loved networking with her and admiring her work!

I couldn’t wait to stitch up Brobee. Everything I needed was right in the kit and not only that, but there was EXTRA! That is rare for a crochet kit to give you plenty of extra yarn and supplies in case of tension differences, user mistakes, etc.
He only took me about an hour to crochet and little Brobee turned out adorable! He measures about 6 x 6 inches. The instructions are very clear and they the rows of color changes have dots of color next to them which is very helpful. Plus there is a QR code to access video instructions!
Now for the best part….
The box that it comes in, doubles as a scene from Gabbaland!
There will be more characters coming over the next couple of months! I can’t wait to stitch up Muno, Foofa, Toodee, and Plex!
