
Here is a cute little crustacean for you summer stitching! This crochet lobster applique is the perfect addition to hats or blankets or tote bags. It would also pair well with the my Ocean Friends Blanket! I am providing the written pattern below and then a complete video tutorial on my Repeat Crafter Me YouTube Channel.

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Cherry Red. Shop HERE on Yarnspirations.com
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
– Cartoon Safety Eyes (optional)
Lobster Body:
Chain 10, DC in 3rd chain from hook and rest of the way down chain, make 6 DC in last, now working on other side of chain, DC in each chain, do not fasten off.
Reach hook over to middle spot on the end of lobster and make 5 SC all in middle stitch and join, chain 1, turn, slip stitch one over and reach over to middle SC. Make 5 SC in the back loop only, join, chain 1 turn and slip stitch over one stitch, (now let’s make the tail) chain 4, HDC in second chain from hook, SC in last, join, chain 3, 2 HDC in second chain from hook, join, chain 4, 2 HDC in second chain from hook< SC in last, join, fasten off.
Lobster claw (make 2):
Chain 10, slip stitch in second chain from hook, HDC decrease over next two, slip stitch in nect, chain 6, slip stich in second chain from hook, SC + HDC in next, 3 HDC in next, HDC, SC, slip stitch to join back to original chain and slip stitch the rest of the way down chain.
Note: I flpped on of the claws over when I stitched it onto the lobster body so they would match. Bigger part of the claw should be facing outward.
